Setting A New Standard for Salon Websites

The Michael Albor Salons

The Michael Albor Loft Salons are known for offering the finest color and form hairdressing in the Boston area. Between the Back Bay and South Shore locations, their team shares numerous Best of Boston appearances as well as North American Hair Awards nominations and awards. Until recently, the salon’s branding and digital presence did not reflect their achievements.

Michael Albor engaged us to help rebrand and overhaul their digital experience in order to elevate their identity, increase appointment bookings, and build customer loyalty. Especially with the presence of Covid-19, we were forced to innovate and rethink the way customers traditionally find and experience salons.

  1. Shift the focus of the brand to Michael Albor and build equity behind the name

  2. Create a flexible identity system that encompasses both the Michael Albor salons and his personal brand as an influencer

  3. Build an effective online platform that represents the high-end, innovative, award-winning service Michael Albor is known for

Stepping away from the old Loft Salon brand, we chose to unify Michael Albor’s personal brand and that of his businesses. Our design language emphasises luxury by embracing a darker tone.

How do customers choose a stylist during the COVID-19 pandemic? Our research charted a convoluted journey through multiple social media accounts. To simplify this process, we decided to create a digital lookbook where Michael Albor stylists could directly upload their best work.

Hair products have the potential to be large revenue streams for any Salon. To capture this market, we built the Michael Albor website with an effective e-commerce front-end that connects customers with Salon Interactive’s online store.
